The e-Government of Bulgaria shall be officialy announced at Webit eGov Summit

It has been almost a decade since e-government (generically known as the provision of online government products and services) became an issue of importance in US and EU. It is a fact that the region of Southeastern Europe has a lot to catch up with the rest of the EU members. In this respect the International Webit eGov Summit shall gather together the highest political level representatives from the region of Southeastern Europe, Technology innovators in all levels of government and heads and IT professionals in city and state agencies and shall meet them with Private-sector businesses, Companies and organizations tracking emerging technologies in government, Government contractors and consultants, Political activists and Public policy academics from the region and rest of the world.

The e-governance and e-government in Bulgaria has just made its first steps. Even though there were several projects announced and millions invested during the past years mot much has been done. On 1 February the Minister of transport, Information technologies and Communications of Bulgaria has announced that the e-government is entering into a test period. It also became clear that one of the events of Webit eGov Summit 2010 shall be the official start of the Bulgarian e-Government.
